Plain Tech

Editorial Policy

Plain Tech aims to make technology coverage accurate, understandable, and honest about its limits.

Editorial independence

Editorial choices are made for reader usefulness and supported by the evidence available to the publication. Advertising, affiliate relationships, retailer availability, or access to a product should not determine a conclusion. Commercial links are kept separate from the reasoning behind a verdict.

Accuracy and sourcing

We seek to verify important claims against reliable sources and to distinguish reported facts, analysis, opinion, and practical advice. Manufacturer or company information is identified in context where it materially informs a story. Links may be provided when they help readers inspect the underlying information.

Reviews and product coverage

Reviews explain what was evaluated, the basis for the conclusion, who the product may suit, and meaningful limitations. Not every product is physically tested. Where coverage is based on research, specifications, documentation, demonstrations, or other sources, the article should not imply hands-on experience.

Updates and corrections

Published pages may be updated when facts, software, products, links, or recommendations change. Material factual corrections should be made transparently and are governed by the Corrections Policy. Minor improvements such as grammar or clarity may be made without changing the editorial meaning.

AI-assisted work

Practical AI tools may assist with research organization, drafting, or routine editing. They are not an authority and do not replace editorial judgment, source checking, or responsibility for the published result. Plain Tech does not treat generated text as evidence.

Commercial relationships

Some product links may be affiliate links. Their presence does not guarantee a recommendation or imply that every link earns a commission. See the Affiliate Disclosure for the public explanation.
