Plain Tech

Privacy

This page describes the current Plain Tech website rather than promising services that are not yet enabled.

What the public site does

Plain Tech currently provides publicly readable editorial pages, images, and links to YouTube and retailer pages. The public site does not currently provide visitor accounts, a public contact form, a newsletter signup, comments, or an analytics dashboard. No email is collected through the current public pages.

Retailer-link measurement

When a reader clicks an eligible retailer or product link, Plain Tech may record a limited first-party event containing the link, related product or article where available, a small placement label, and the event time. This is used for aggregate performance measurement. It does not store identity, email, IP address, precise location, browser fingerprints, or tracking cookies for this feature. Retailer-link counts can include repeated or automated clicks and are directional rather than billing-grade.

Technical services

Public content is read from Supabase through the site's server and public read client under the database's access policies. Images may be served from the site's public assets, configured ImageKit media, or other explicitly supported editorial media sources. Hosting and delivery providers such as Vercel, Supabase, ImageKit, and YouTube may process ordinary technical request information under their own policies when their services are used.

Links to other services

Video cards currently link to YouTube rather than embedding a player on the page. Retailer buttons open an external destination and use the site's commercial-link handling. Once a reader leaves Plain Tech, the destination's privacy and purchase terms apply.

Administration

The protected Admin area is separate from public reading. Authorized staff accounts use Supabase Auth session cookies to sign in and manage publication records. There is no public account registration. Staff should follow the separate internal security and access documentation.

Storage and future services

The current public experience does not intentionally store visitor questions or newsletter addresses in the browser. Newsletter signup remains unavailable. If another data-collecting feature is introduced, this policy should be updated before that feature is enabled.
