What a Plain Tech review contains
The existing Review system supports a written verdict, who a product is best for, who may want to avoid it, optional pros and cons, relevant specifications, testing methodology where available, product references, alternatives, retailer links, and an optional companion video. The article body provides the explanation and evidence around those structured sections.
Hands-on experience and research
Physical testing is not implied for every product. A review should distinguish hands-on experience from research based on product documentation, specifications, demonstrations, software evaluation, or other available sources. When testing details are included, they should explain the conditions and limitations that matter to the conclusion.
Verdicts and scores
The written verdict is the primary recommendation. Existing Article Document V1 content may contain an optional numerical score from 0 to 10 in one-tenth increments, inclusive. That means values such as 7, 7.5, and 7.8 are valid; values such as 7.25, 10.01, and -1 are rejected. The score is not a substitute for the reasoning, and Plain Tech does not infer ratings or awards where the article does not provide them.
Products, alternatives, and retailers
The reviewed product is kept separate from supporting product references and alternatives. Public retailer options are shown only when an active, safe retailer link exists. Links describe where a reader can continue, not a guaranteed price, stock status, or ranking. Commercial links and the related disclosure are explained in the Affiliate Disclosure.
Limitations
Technology changes, product samples and configurations differ, and no review can cover every use case. The article should make relevant uncertainty visible so readers can judge whether the recommendation fits their needs.
